There lived a wood cutter in a village. One day he was cutting wood near a river. Suddenly, his axe fell into the river. The river was very deep. The wood-cutter did not know how to swim or dive. So, he was sitting there sadly. Then a wonderful incident happened. A beautiful fairy appeared before the wood cutter..........

.......... The fairy asked him why he was crying. He told her everything. The fairy took pity on him. She went down in the river and came back with a golden axe. She asked the wood-cutter if it was his axe. The wood cutter replied in the negative. She then again went into the water and returned with a silver one. This time also the wood- cutter refused to take it. Finally she brought the axe of the wood-cutter from the water. The wood-cutter was delighted to get back his iron axe. The fairy became pleased with the wood-cutter at his honesty and gave him the two valuable axes as reward. Honesty is thus always rewarded.

One day two cats found a piece of bread somewhere. Each of them wanted to have the larger share of it. They began quarreling. They could not decide how to deal out with that piece of bread. They suggested going to the monkey who had a scale. So, they went to the money to divide the bread properly................

................The cunning monkey divided the piece in such a way that it was not equally divided. Then he cut a small part of a piece and ate that instantly which was larger than the other. Again, the dishes of the scale were unequal and the monkey ate another small part of the larger portion. He continued this method and the piece of bread became smaller gradually. The cats understood the monkey’s crafty trick and ordered the money to stop that. They monkey stopped his deception but claimed the rest of the bread as his charge.

They were in tension and began to think what to do. Whenever, the cat went to the barn, they hid themselves. Then they held a meeting how to get rid of this trouble. One of them said there would be a ring in the neck of the cat. When the cat would start coming here, they would listen to the ring and flee away. It was appreciated first but next question arose who would bell.

..........He thought that after his death the sons would continue their quarrel and bring about their ruin. As a father, he was not ready to the bad effect of quarreling among themselves during his life time. He invited all of his sons one day. He asked them to bring five sticks. When they had brought the sticks he tied them together and made a bundle. Then he gave the bundle of sticks to each of them separately and asked them to break it. Everyone tried to break the bundle but could not. Then the old man untied the bundle and gave a single stick to each one of them to break it. This time they broke the single piece of stick easily. Finally, the father asked them what lesson they had got from that example. The sons replied that it they remained divided and quarreled with one another, they would be weaker and enemies could easily win over them. Since then, the sons stopped quarreling and started working together and living in unity and amity.

Soon Robin’s parents arrived at the clinic. They created a heart-rending scene. Robin’s mother fainted seeing her son’s condition. His father cried like a child. He was telling that his son took some money from him to buy flowers, as the following day was the 21st February.

Then he called a rickshaw and took the woman to the nearby hospital. There the doctors at once examined the old woman. The doctors assured the boy that the condition of the woman was not serious and after first aid the old woman regained her sense.

Then Ahsanullah inquired of her whereabouts. The woman told him that she had come to this town from a nearby village. She came here to beg. But having heard a very loud sound of truck horn, she was at a loss. And at one point, she lost her sense. After hearing this, the boy took the woman to his house. He gave her good foods to eat. His mother also gives the woman some old clothes. On the boy’s request, his mother also gave the woman some money to go back to the village. The woman prayed much for Ahasnullah and went back to her village happily.
