Deforestation is the removal of a forest or trees from land which is then converted to a non-forest use. There are numerous causes of deforestation. It is caused due to the use of forest land in farming, ranching and urbanization. Forests are also deforested for aggressive human settlement, timber collection, construction of roads and buildings at an increased rate. The most concentrated deforestation occurs in tropical rain forests. There are long lasting bad impacts of deforestation on climate. Depletion of the forest increase the greenhouse gases that causes global warming. This leads to the inevitable climate change and severe flood and drought. Without drinkable water, we become sick. There is a shortage of oxygen without sufficient trees. Thus deforestation becomes a serious threat to human being, fauna, nature and climate. Deforestation is related to global warming directly or indirectly. Deforestation increases the temperature of the atmosphere. This is why the ice of Antarctica is starting to melt. So the sea level is also rising. Coastal countries, including Bangladesh and the Maldives, are in danger of sinking. 

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of United Nations estimates that by 2050, sea levels will rise by 1 meter due to climate change. This will submerge at least 17% of Bangladesh's land. We must prevent deforestation at any cost. In a word, we need to prevent deforestation in order to sustain our own existence. Forests help in rainfall control and drought prevention. It helps us earn a living. It also helps control dangerous climate change. We should encourage our friends, family, and community about how our everyday actions can impact forests around the world. We should buy products from the companies who commit to reduce deforestation. Public awareness must be raised about the harmful effects of deforestation.
