Terrible Consequences of Drug Addiction
Dr. Tajul Islam, Professor of the National Institute of Mental Health, said, “About 8.5 million people in Bangladesh are addicted to drugs. A large part of the unemployed population of the country is addicted to drugs. If one in the family is addicted to drugs, there is no happiness.”
In this regard, the Home Minister said, “We have amended the drug law, provided maximum punishment under the drug law.”
The director general of the Narcotics Control Department said, “If the demand for drugs is stopped, there is no benefit even if there is supply. No one will buy drugs. We are now waging a concerted effort to dismantle the supply chain.”
