The Situation of Ekushey Book Fair

Jobaer Hossain, Staff Reporter, 15 March 2022: A huge presence of buyers, visitors and readers has been noticed in the book fair of this year. In the presence of millions of people, the sky-air of Bangla Academy has become bustling.

It can be seen on the spot that writers and publishers are spending sleepless nights here. Thousands of books have been brought here. Everyone is fascinated by the sweet smell of the new book.

It can be seen that the fair grounds were overflowing with people like every day. Most of the visitors have returned home after buying books.

Mostak Ahmed, proprietor of Collegiate Publications, said, “A significant amount of books is being sold this year. Buyers of quality books never go down. We value the quality of the book more than the publicity.”

A young writer said, “Ekushey Book Fair is not just a book buying and selling festival. It is actually a place of our emotions.”

A visitor said, “Every year I wait eagerly for the book fair. If I don't come to the book fair at least once, the whole year seems meaningless.”
