Celebration of International Mother Language Day at Dhaka College
The principal of the college presided over the ceremony. Renowned writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was the chief guest of the occasion. Poet Nirmalendu Goon was the special guest.
The chief guest said, the then Pakistani rulers wanted to impose Urdu as the state language upon us instead of Bangle. But the heroic sons of our country protested it.
The special guest said, the day is very important for the people of Bangladesh. We are proud of this day.
The student parliament of the institution organized this event. Recitation of poems, debates, present speeches and story telling were organized on the occasion.
Red, green and white—three teams participated in it. A total of 60 students took part in it. The red team won the competition. Prizes were distributed among the contestants at the end of the ceremony.
