Mujib 100

Mujib Centenary is the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The countdown to Mujib Centenary begins on January 10, 2020. The period of Mujib Centenary is from 17 March 2020 to 17 March 2021. In other words, the year from one birthday to another is the Centenary of Father of the Nation. The Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the year 2020-2021 as Mujib Centenary. According to the first announcement, the plan of celebration of Mujib Centenary was March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021. However, later this period was extended till December 16, 2021. The unveiling of the logo of Mujib Centenary and the official countdown began on January 10, 2020. 

January 10 is the Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day. Sabyasachi Hajra designed the logo of Mujib Centenary. The theme song of Mujib Centenary is "You are the pole star of Bengal, you are the beacon of the heart, thunderous in the sky-in the air, your voice." Various programs were announced on the occasion of this year. These are promoting Bangabandhu 's role in independence struggle of Bangladesh at the grassroots level, making short films and documentaries, declaring March 1 as National Insurance Day etc. On the occasion of Mujib Centenary, The Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated a free special housing project for the landless and homeless of the country. Due to coronavirus, the celebration period of Mujib Centenary was extended till December 16, 2021. In the long run, Fidel Castro said, "I have not seen the Himalayas, but I have seen Sheikh Mujib. He is like the Himalayas in personality and courage." We are really proud to celebrate the centenary of the birth of such a great leader.
