Corruption in Bangladesh
Nasir Hossain, Staff Reporter, 17 February 2022: Transparency International (TI), a Berlin-based organization, paints a picture of corruption around the world. According to the TIB report, corruption in Bangladesh has declined somewhat in recent years.
Dr. Kamal Uddin, Professor of Chittagong University, said that in order to eradicate corruption, the attitude of the people of Bangladesh towards corruption must be changed. They have to build an anti-corruption social movement.
For five consecutive years from 2001 to 2005, Bangladesh was listed in the TI report as the most corrupt country in the world. Later, the position of Bangladesh gradually started coming forward.
The executive director of TIB said, “We have not been able to bring many of the real corrupt people to justice. That's why we couldn't do better.”
