Dilapidated State of Jainta-Jaflong Tourist Spot
Sunia Akter, Staff Reporter, 20 March 2022: Jaflong of Sylhet is known all over the country as the daughter of nature. It is a land of natural beauty. Jainta-Jaflong tourist center has been developed here. Although it has been a tourist hotspot for a long time, it is now on the verge of collapse due to lack of proper maintenance.
According to the investigation, the lack of infrastructure and the condition of the road to the tourist center is very fragile. On the broken path, tourists suffer immensely.
A shopkeeper named Liaquat Hossain said, “The main road to the tourist center has not been repaired for seventeen years. Vehicles cannot travel on this road for 10 kilometers.”
A local representative said, “The people here have no confidence in the media and concerned authority. Because, after all, the result will be zero.”
The locals demanded the infrastructural development of the tourist spot that was popular once.
