Introduction:

Human life on earth is very short. In this short span of life man should have definite aim to attain success in life. In other words our life is nothing but a journey. To reach the destination of the journey every man has some plans and programmes which may be called 'aim in life'. An aim is the cornerstone to success in human life. A life without any aim is like a ship without a rudder. An aim helps a man to gain his coveted objective. So, in order to be successful in life a certain aim should be fixed earlier.

Meaning of aim in life:

An aim implies a particular goal in Life. It Is related to the concerned people. Every person has his own aim in life which varies from person to person because different persons have different tastes and abilities. To gain one's objective, one should have a definite aim in life. It is like the torch of life.

My aim/ambition:

Among men some want to earn money, some want to earn fame and some want to serve people. I had to think a lot to choose my aim/profession/career in life. I think, right choice of a profession leads to success. Happiness and peace but wrong choice results in failure, frustration and unhappiness. It should be decided according to one's aptitude, ability and merit. Considering these my choice is the simple wish to be a teacher.

Cause for my choice:

People around us are tortured with many problems. Diseases, wants, mourning are their daily companions. They cannot hope to lead a standard life. They are helpless and silent under any circumstances. They arc hated on earth and ignored in the civilized world. Such a condition is due to lack of education. So I have made up my mind to be a college teacher. The person who inspired me much In this regard is my mother. My mother is an Ideal and devoted teacher. She is a very popular and effective teacher. I wanted to be like her.

Teaching as a profession:

Undoubtedly teaching is a very noble profession. It may not be financially very rewarding, but it gives one a mental satisfaction. A teacher is like a potter who works on wheel to give shape to his pots, cutting out the rough edges to give a perfect finish to the end product. In former times teachers were highly respected. They had tremendous dedication and sincerity. The students were also respectful and obedient. But at present neither the students nor the teachers have the same sincerity and singleness of purpose. As a result the standard of education has deteriorated. However there are still exceptional teachers who are genuinely concerned about the future of their pupils and try to guide them sincerely.

Qualities of a good teacher:

A good teacher must have certain qualities. He must be intelligent, learned, compassionate and just. He mug possess a positive approach to life and handle the academic, socio-economically and personal problems of the pupils with warmth and affection. He must be skilled to guide and counsel them in times of difficulty. I have always admired teachers who are cheerful and who adopt a friendly but firm approach in the class. Students 'always feel comfortable in the company of such teachers and always look forward to listening to them. To a very large extent the interest of students in a particular subject depends on the teachers approach and skill in it. Here good communication skill along with ability to relate to children is very helpful in holding the easily distracted minds of children. Enjoyment among children: Unfortunately, there are people who take to teaching out of compulsion, because the other avenues are not open to them. They drift into teaching because they have failed to achieve their ambition. I have by choice decided to opt for teaching. I love working with children. There is so much one can actually learn from them. Children are spontaneous, innocent and warm. They respond to love and affection unlike adults whose thinking clouds their reactions. It must be a very satisfying experience to shape young minds, eager to learn, who come to a teacher in total faith.

Advantage of holidays and leisure periods:

One cannot overlook the advantages that one has as a teacher. One gets so many holidays which can be used to catch up with other interests one neglects during the working days. I love having lots of holidays and simply indulging in myself. There is no other profession where one can get paid for so many holidays. This is really a very tempting prospect. Besides, over the years the salary of teachers has also become very attractive. Teaching has certain distinct advantages over other professions. Teachers do not have Very long-working hours. Surely, loss of time is taken in preparing the lessons, correction work etc. Still one can have ample time to pursue other interests.

Conclusion:

I am not unaware that it is quite difficult to secure admission in a good teachers' training college. Everyone who wants to achieve something has to work hard with a single minded purpose to attain, one's goal. I am willing to work hard to actualize my ambition, and waiting for the day when, after completing my training in teaching. I can become a teacher. That day indeed will be a red letter day in my life.

Dowry system has virtually turned women into inferior beings and commodities. Actually man's financial ability and independence is inseparably related to any kind of prestige. The women of Bangladesh are not economically independent and they are dependent on the males for many reasons. Women of the two religions — Hindus and Muslims of Bangladesh are the victims of disparity in the hereditary laws. They suffer terribly from financial incapacity due to this discrepancy. Again male dominated society where the clutches of so-called dowry system exists till now deprives women of their basic human rights and individuality.

Remedial measures:

To stop women oppression through dowry system is the prime job of all conscious people now. To tackle dowry system and women oppression application of law is very important. In our country, two laws are existing at present, such as: Dowry Prohibition Act, 1980 and the Cruelty to Women Deterrent Punishment Ordinance, 1983. In these laws there are strict provisions of punishment for handing and taking of dowries, women oppression and women trafficking. So impartial judicial measures are to be taken in all spheres. Besides, social campaign, protest and prevention programmes of different public and private organizations should be launched urgently against dowry system. The need for women education and employment of educated women should be stressed. After all, poverty alleviation and drive against ignorance and prejudices are the preconditions of fight against dowry system.

Conclusion:

To save women from the curse of dowry system is a burning issue. Women should be given due right and social status by removing the inhuman convention of dowry. For this man and woman of all walks of life along with women movement should come forward. So long as the very social disease like dowry system is not abolished, our women will not enjoy due feminine rights. The consequences of child labor are very far reaching. Child labor has many negative consequences. It hinders our socio-economic development. We know that children are a major part of our population. They are the future leader of any country. A greater part of the total population becomes a burden due to child labor. We cannot go forward without them. If they could be educated, they would contribute to the country.

According to UNICEF, the total number of children in Bangladesh is 61.3 millions. A survey of BIDS, the number of street children is 6,79,728 and this number will increase in 11,44,754. In fact, it is a alarming news for Bangladesh. It is estimated that the number of worker children in Bangladesh is 7.4 millions. The number of children who work as servant at household is 50,000.

We must work together to get rid of child labor. It is impossible to take any kind of progressive activities due to child labor. It is a great hindrance to the national development for any country. Government can make a rule for saving the children. The must be educated. They have to provide all kinds of medical, physical and mental support for leading their better life.

In the end it can be said that effective measures must be taken to stop child labor. The law of international child labor must be implemented. Government must take action to educate poor children. Public awareness must be raised. Thus we can get rid of the curse of child labor.

Illiteracy problem is one of them. Most of the people are deprived of at least their basic human needs. Illiteracy paves the way of poverty. This poverty hinders all development efforts of the country. Therefore, it is not possible developing of the country without removing illiteracy from the society. I want to change our poor condition. Being a teacher, thus, I want to contribute to the national development. Therefore, I want to be an ideal teacher. Nevertheless, I never expect to be a college or university teacher. I want to be a high school teacher and want to remain in village.

To be a teacher, I have to take good preparation in student life. After obtaining graduation, I shall complete B. ED. course. It is very helpful course for teacher ship. Then I shall come back to my village high school to join as a teacher. I want to stay in the midst of students and village people. I have also a plan to open a night school for the adults. I shall teach them about agriculture, family planning, health, nutrition, children raising etc. I shall distribute books and agricultural materials among them free of cost.

In the end, a good teacher is an asset for a nation. In addition, a good teacher can change the nation. Now I am working hard to fulfill my desire. My parents always help me to reach my goal.
